I obtained a first for my undergraduate French degree. I also completed an elective in French honours, obtaining a first. I feel this equips me to teach the language. Furthermore, I have kept additional language notes that can help others.
I am a passionate reader, and French was among one of the subjects I appreciated the most in school. I posses the fundamental skills to tackle grammar, comprehension, linguistics and essay-writing on worldwide issues.
I have studied French since I was in Grade 1, and I am confident I can help others achieve the levels they wish to achieve. Knowing there are limited French matriculants in South Africa willing to tutor, I think my knowledge could be put to good use.
I have a good knowledge of pedagogy with students as well as a good level of French both writing and talking abilities. Achieving an "A" in French for my A-levels again shows my worth in this subject. Also, I can adapt to any kind of learner.
I received an average of 81% for French in matric. I also went to France on exchange for two months in the December holidays of 2010.
While I consistently performed in French and other languages through to Matric, I am probably best-suited to teach up to Grade 10, as it has been a few years since I have used the language academically.
My teacher encouraged us to not only learn the language, but to speak it too, and so when I visited France I was able to get by on the skills I had learnt. Comfortable tutoring senior level and able to tutor FET if necessary.
I am passionate about the French language, with it being my favourite subject at school. I achieved 89% in matric and won multiple prizes throughout high school. I have additionally achieved a B2 level in the internationally recognised DELF exams.
I have a degree in French Language and Literature. I received 90.5% in the DELF exam at B1 level in 2011; and 93% for French 2nd Additional Language in Matric (2011). I was a French exchange student for 5 months in Grade 10 (2009).
Having learnt it for four years I grew a passion for it and I would love to encourage others to see the beauty in the language especially while still in high school.
