Bio
I am an enthusiastic and patient tutor with 2 years of experience. I graduated from the University of Kent in 2020, achieved 10 distinctions in matric, and have a 240 hour TEFL certificate.
I strive to build good relationships with all of my students, and I firmly believe that individual attention can be of great value to learners. I try to relate to each student individually and tailor my lessons to their needs, strengths and weaknesses. My own experience as a language learner further helps me to put myself in the shoes of the learner, and to remain patient and supportive.

• My proudest achievement is obtaining a first class honours degree while having a part-time job and being involved in extracurricular activities.

- School Tutoring
French
I have studied French for 10+ years, including throughout university and during my year studying abroad in France, where I took language courses as well as literature and history classes in French. I am currently tutoring Gr9 and Gr 12 French, and doing a C1 course through the Alliance Française.
Afrikaans
I achieved 95% for Afrikaans FAL in Matric, and speak it fluently. I’m passionate about languages and helping students build their language skills and confidence. I am currently providing online Afrikaans lessons for a homeschooled student, covering grammar, vocabulary and comprehension skills.
Mathematics
I am able to work with students to develop a solid foundation of central mathematical concepts, as well as being a very patient tutor. I achieved 95% for Maths and 86% percent for AP Maths in Matric.
English
I achieved 87% for English home language and 85% for AP English in Grade 12. I have a solid understanding of the structure and grammar of the language, good writing skills, and a 240hr TEFL qualification. I want to help students enjoy English while improving their confidence and abilities.
- Language Tutoring
Afrikaans
I am currently providing online Afrikaans lessons for a student who is being homeschooled, planning two lessons each week. I try to focus on both formal aspects of the language as well as everyday and written comprehension skills that she will be able to use during her day-to-day life.
Conversational English
I speak Afrikaans and English fluently, and French at C1 level. Language learning is very important to me, and from my experience learning languages I understand the struggles that students can face. I recently completed a 240 hour TEFL course to help me improve my online lessons.
TEFL
I have a 240hr TEFL certificate, including a module on one-to-one and online tutoring, and am passionate about language learning and helping students improve their skills and confidence. I achieved 87% for English and 85% for AP English in Matric.
