I am a two-time UCT graduate and qualified SP & FET teacher. When I'm not studying or working as a music teacher I enjoy baking, crocheting and exploring interesting places around Cape Town!
I have struggled in some subjects and know that hard work and a good teacher can change things for the better. My best attributes are patience and kindness, and I ensure that I apply those to any situation I am in. Each person's struggle is unique and I always try to understand from another's perspective. Your success is our success, and I do my best to work with you to reach your goals.

English
I achieved a distinction in grade 12, have a degree in English from UCT, and am a qualified English teacher. My understanding of literature at university level will enable me to tutor primary and high school students to a satisfactory standard.
Afrikaans
I speak Afrikaans fluently as my second language and have achieved consistently high marks in school (94% in grade 12) and external Olympiads. My personal experience with learning languages will come in handy, as I have my own techniques that helped me remember vocabulary and complex grammar rules.
History
I achieved a distinction in grade 12, have a History degree from UCT, and am a qualified History teacher. History requires contextual understanding and good essay writing, both of which I can assist with improving through dedicated lessons on structuring source-based questions and essays.
Mathematics Literacy
I started Maths Lit in Gr.12 and excelled (94% NSC, 3rd in province). Having a background in pure maths, I can approach the content from a different perspective and ensure that problem solving is done simply, but thoroughly.
Consumer Studies
I really enjoy Consumer Studies - if I wasn't a teacher, I'd have become a chef! I tutored my classmates and achieved high marks from Grd.10-12. I have an excellent understanding of the practical and theory requirements, boosted by my Life Sciences knowledge and interest in food science.
German
I took the SLL1062F/1063S courses at UCT and achieved 82% and 92% respectively. I have been maintaining my language skills and am confident in tutoring basic vocabulary, grammar, reading and speech.
Life Sciences (Biology)
I took Life Sciences until grade 12 and achieved consistently high marks. I have tutored this subject before and thoroughly enjoy the content.
Life Orientation
I believe that Life Orientation is an essential subject to teach necessary life skills. I briefly majored in Psychology and later majored in Gender Studies, both of which give me a well-rounded perspective and ability to tutor this subject.
