My name is Victoria Gordon. I have been tutoring privately for four years. I also coached archaeology to university students from 2020-2021 online during the peak of Covid.
I am a good listener and have experience identifying where people have problems. I can help a student understand what is asked of them and aid them in answering the questions asked of them. I strive to get the best results from the student.
• Matriculated in 2015
• BSc in Geography and Archaeology (2019).
• BSc Hons Archaeology (2020)
• 2 years of primary school tutoring experience.
• I am a member of the Golden Key society. I have an undergraduate degree (BSc in Geography and Archaeology) and a postgraduate degree (BSc Hons Archaeology).
Geography
I have a BSc degree from Wits University in Geography and Archaeology. I am passionate about geography, and I would love to share that passion with students. I have previous tutoring experience and have learnt tips and tricks to help students grasp the content material and master it!
History
History is a fascinating subject that I thoroughly enjoy, and I achieved a distinction for it in matric. I aim to help students understand the questions and how they are asked so that students can ace tests and exams. I would love to help students reach their goals.
Natural Science
Biology and science can often be confusing when learning terms and definitions. I am great at explaining both of these as well as helping the student recognise where and how they should be used. I aim to help students feel confident in their abilities and build on their strengths!
Life Sciences (Biology)
Life Science at a school level sets the foundation for modules to come later. Therefore, it is so important that students have a strong foundation! I would love the opportunity to help more students succeed and reach their academic goals.
English
I have had many years of experience writing multiple styles of essays and editing varsity-level papers. This means I have experience providing comprehensive feedback and aiding the student in understanding the English language. I believe that I can help students succeed in English!
Afrikaans
Students who don't speak Afrikaans at home often study by remembering and repeating what they have learnt instead of processing the translations. I am great at helping them understand Afrikaans and assisting in the application of knowledge. I aim to help students feel confident in their skillset.
Mathematics
Maths can be difficult to comprehend if you do not understand the fundamentals. I help students recognise where to apply what they have learnt in class and grasp the core concepts of mathematical operations. I believe in the importance of building a strong foundation!
Social Science
My distinction in History and BSc in Geography gives me a great advantage in understanding these subjects. It also allows me to explain difficult terms and aid in understanding geographical and historical phenomena. I believe I will be able to help students master this subject.

“Victoria is a beautiful person with a genuine love for kids. She is really able to get down to the level of Mmasefako. Her methods are very good because when she leaves, her student starts teaching me ( LOL) I don't know how she does it, but Mmasefako retains quiet a lot that she got taught for quiet sometime which is an achievement on its own. I am glad that she was part of our support system, she is great and very easy to get along with. Thank you, Teacher, I know Mmsefako has passed this last term”
