My name is Zolani Sophethe. I am a passionate person who is driven and very motivated about anything I do. I like to pay attention to detail in everything I do.
I believe in the saying that says it takes a village to make a man. I alone did not make it this far. However, it was with assistance of family teachers, lecturers, and tutors, etc. The mindfulness and awareness of what it means to be helped and having someone there when you need them makes it easier for me to help others. This is because of the empathy I easily develop.

My Proudest
Achievements
• My first proudest moment was graduating at UCT and being accepted for Postgraduate at the university. My second proudest moment was receiving a silver medal in taekwondo African Champs while I was representing SA and UCT.

I hold a BSocSc in Geographical Sciences. Moreover, I just completed a PGCE UCT course which makes me a qualified teacher. I am qualified to teach Geography at a high school level.
Life Sciences (Biology)
I achieved a distinction for Life Sciences in Matric. I find this subject very fascinating. PGCE has taught me a lot about pedagogy and I believe that this helps me in teaching every lesson and subject.
English
I achieved a distinction for English in Matric. Moreover, I completed many humanities courses in University. These courses demanded critical, academic and creative writing. Additionally, I've completed my PGCE which helps me in teaching

Creative Writing
I struggled during first-year to adjust to the university style of creative writing. I learned from senior students and through my own research and I survived. Additionally, I wrote a lot university essays!
- Life Skills
Writing Techniques
From first-year to fourth year, I learned a lot of writing techniques. This is based on the feedback I received from my lecturers and tutors. Moreover, I made use of the UCT writing centre which was a fantastic learning site.
Communication
I learned a lot of communication skills throughout my university life. This was based on the fact that I worked at the university and had to communicate appropriately. I teach LO — communication is one of the life skills sections I teach.
