I received my Masters in Musicology from the University of Stellenbosch in 2012. In 2008, I was awarded an Honours degree in Chamber Music from the same institution, after graduating cum laude with a B.Mus in clarinet, music theory and music history.
I have studied Theory through to fourth year University level and have been teaching it ever since I graduated in 2015.
I have a strong background in music, playing both the violin and piano. I finished my Royal Schools of Music theory exams up to Grade 6 level as well as achieving an A in my NSC examinations.
I have completed the Royal Schools Music Exam at Grade 8 level for flute and recorder.
Music is one of my greatest passions. Along with a distinction in school music I also have a distinction in UNISA Grade 5 Music Theory. I have also studied two years of Music Theory and Analysis at the University of Cape Town.
Theory of music starts from pre-grade 1 in UNISA but due to my progress, I managed to skip pre-grade 1 and go straight to grade 1. I learnt Theory of music for 1 year and it remains embedded in my mind, therefore I would like to share it.
