"My first interaction with Teach Me 2 was not as tutor, but as a student. Teach Me 2, through one of their friendly agents, organised a tutor for me for my advanced mathematics course in high school. I was so impressed by the tutor and the standard of their service that I too wanted to be part of Teach Me 2 as a tutor after high school! Having the opportunity to be part of Teach Me 2 as both a student and now a tutor gives me a unique ability to review them from 'both sides' - Teach Me 2 are as respectful to their tutors as they are to their clients. Furthermore, the stringent application process to become a tutor with them is testament to their professionalism and quality."

FAQs

How much do I get paid per hour, and how often do I get paid?

Tutor's rates are set by our system and vary depending on what you are tutoring. You can expect to earn between R130 to R190 per hour. The rate is advertised on the job alert so you can pick which jobs you want to apply for. Tutor payments are made twice a month for lessons confirmed in the period before.

Are lessons online or in person?

The clients decide how they'd like to have lessons, but you can state upfront if you're only able to do in-person or online tutoring. Being able to do both, however, means that more clients become available to you.

Can I continue tutoring privately?

Absolutely! We don't ask for exclusivity at all. You'll soon see why the majority of your client base will always end up being Teach Me 2 clients. ;) However, all clients that you meet through Teach Me 2 need to remain Teach Me 2 clients; we have a strict policy on circumvention in this regard.

Do I get paid for travel or data?

You will be expected to cover your own petrol costs for travels up to 10 to 15 kms, as well as internet costs. If you need to travel further, a petrol subsidy can be negotiated with a Support Manager. You will need to negotiate this with us before lessons commence.

How many hours do I need to commit to per week?

The number of hours you work is up to you!

Is tutoring safe?

We are fully committed to keeping our clients and tutors safe. Read our safety guide for more information.
