I was a University of Cape Town 1st Year Mathematics Tutor for a period of two years. I passed my University Maths course with a distinction in the first year.

I am a fluent French speaker. I lived and learned French in Lyon, France over a period of 2 years. I then qualified with a DELF B2 international Diploma in French which means that I am competent in listening, speaking, reading and writing.

I have been a University of Cape Town 3rd year Economics course tutor for 3 years. I have also been a Head Tutor, running a team of tutors for a 1st year level economics course. Marking and grading exam scripts as well as running workshops.

“She is very strict, but not abusive. She has taught him to plan ahead and has been able to explain things he didn't understand in the past. She is also patient. Excellent at teaching responsibility. She did amazing work for his science project and his mark was 76 percent. Last year he had 60 percent. In one test he obtained 90 percent. His math term mark improved as well - a great deal. It may look like 52 from 48 is not good, but it's because when they met he had already written two tests where he did not do well. She also advised me to do away with incentives as according to her it confuses them and sometimes they think they are learning for parents. It has worked. ”
