In 2014 & 2015, I embraced the opportunity to join the Masinyusane Mentorship Programme. The overarching goal of this initiative was to communicate, via educational games, with scholars to improve their use and command of the English Language.
Coming from a disadvantaged community meant I had to teach myself English through literature as well as practice & I ended up as the best English speaking and writing learner in my school. I learned a lot in that process and I have a lot of patience.
I believe language is best learnt through conversation. I believe the same applies for English.
I have much experience with children, inside and outside the classroom. I am able to gain access to their intellect & help them bring it to the surface through fun exercises & posing the correct questions to help them open up. Children are inspiring.
I have been teaching two children from China to read, write, and speak English in order to attend school locally for two years. I have also completed a TEFL course (Teaching English as a Foreign Language).
I am a native English speaker, and have consistently done well academically. Taught English in Cambodia as a volunteering project.
