My highest qualification in Music Theory is Grade 6 (UNISA) and I have a solid fundamental understanding of music theory.
I absolutely love music and am able to teach classical piano up to Gr.6 level and violin up to Gr.4 level. I prefer to teach in a non-traditional way and allow children to choose if they want to play practical exams or choose their preferred genre.
I have studied Theory through to fourth year University level and have been teaching it ever since I graduated in 2015.
I have completed the Royal Schools Music Exam at Grade 8 level for flute and recorder.
I completed my Grade 6 Piano Theory exam in 2014 and achieved a Merit. I thoroughly enjoy this subject as it enables you to see the technical side of music, whilst still enjoying yourself.
Theory of music starts from pre-grade 1 in UNISA but due to my progress, I managed to skip pre-grade 1 and go straight to grade 1. I learnt Theory of music for 1 year and it remains embedded in my mind, therefore I would like to share it.
I have played the cello for 15 years and did music as a subject at school. I can play Cello at an intermediate level. I have taken private Cello lessons for ~15 years as well, so I am familiar with teaching styles and techniques as well.
